OZ Design Gets 5 Stars From Erin

    Last updated 1 year ago

After recently purchasing our first home my partner and I decided if there is one thing we must to invest in - it is a gorgeous lounge. We went everywhere, sat on many lounges. Making Your Room More Spacious with Rugs

    Last updated 1 year ago

Furnishing a smaller room with spatial confinements and limitations can be challenging. But it’s not impossible. Especially when OZ Design has some great tips on how rugs can be used to make an apartment or small room appear more spacious.

Rugs are an important feature to a room and can really assist in setting a theme or mood. If you are ideally looking at making a room look bigger we have three main tips to help you select a foundation for your floor.

    Bigger is better:

Instead of placing several small rugs on your floor, use one large rug to help a room look bigger. Several rugs make a small room look crowded. Place the large rug within 12 inches of the walls on all sides.  By doing this, the furniture and room does not look like it is crowding the rug.

    Lighter for Brighter:

A common technique when painting is using lighter colours to make a room look brighter and also more spacious. This technique can be applied with rugs to achieve the same result.  Pastels, neutrals and off-white are best.

    Keep it Simple:

Use rugs that have a solid colour rather than a pattern, because patterns can clutter a small room.Like patterns, heavy textures can also create clutter.  Use a non-textured lightweight rug to maximise the space of your room.

Remember these ideas do not have to be applied to a larger room.

OZ Design understands that rugs are not only a practical feature within a home, but they also help in bringing character to a room. OZ Design Furniture’s collection of rugs, showcase different looks, colours and styles all at an affordable price. For more information, call us on 1300 596 284.

Another 5 Star Review For OZ Design!

    Last updated 1 year ago

We recently purchased two new sofas from Oz in Bundall. I wanted to thank the staff member called Serena for her patience and time that she spent with us to make sure that everything was just perfect. She even organised for a cutting of the fabric for us to take home so that we could be 100% sure it matched everything else in the room. It's also... More
